A blog for Mother's Recipe

The Foodie Sunday I Will Never Forget

What happens after you brag about your cooking skills in front of your colleagues, when you have none? Of course, what bad could happen? This is exactly what I thought and projected myself as the masterchef who knows every recipe on this earth. But as karma would have it, one fine day my colleagues decided I would host them for a Sunday lunch, and I couldn’t say no.
Till Sunday morning, I thought all this was a joke and no one would turn up. I realised it was for real only when I got a call from my team lead asking to confirm if the plan was on. Well, this was my second opportunity to say no, and I missed it too. Worse? I already told her I will be cooking Paneer Masala, exactly the way my mom cooks it. My mom had once cooked it when she was here, and my office people had loved it so much, they finished it off in a jiffy. Talk about making a self-goal.
It was 10 am already, and I had just 4 hours to get the lunch ready. I had the following options –
  1. Call up my mother and take a live tutorial from her (But what if I still messed up?)
  2. Order from a restaurant and pretend that I cooked it (Bad Idea)
  3. Ask my neighbour to help me out (Why would they? I had never even  talked to them)
  4. Cancel the plan (No way!)
Calling up my mother seemed to be the only feasible options at that point of time.  My mother ran me through the complete recipe for Paneer Masala, and I was quite sure I was sorted. Oh! Wait. The last time I tried to cook it, I had completely messed up the ginger-garlic combination. All I could taste back then was just Garlic, and trust me, it wasn’t pleasant. Getting these small quantities right is really important if you want to cook something delicious. And of course, I wanted to save some time and efforts as well. So I went for the most trusted option – a readymade ginger-garlic paste. I had seen this new spout pack by Mother’s Recipe last week at the supermarket. It looked well, and most importantly the spout pack seemed to be really easy to use. Thank god! I had bought it.
Fortunately for me, everything went according to the plan and my guests just loved the food. And the best compliment I got was – “Hey, you cook just like your mother. “
Of course, it was my mother’s recipe, but the ginger-garlic paste added that special touch to it – the mom touch.

There are many such stories where Mother’s Recipe has not only come to the rescue, but has also given what most of us crave for – the taste of love. And we are glad to introduce to you to the new sprout packs of ginger, garlic, and ginger-garlic pastes.  All you have do now is #JustSpout. And the best thing, you don’t have to rush to the supermarket, you can buy these products online as well.
